Like, how do hedgehogs survive with food? Well, hedgehogs have adapted well. They have extremely good kidneys and can survive a long time with out water. And if water is scarce, they can get a lot of their water from fruits. To avoid the sometimes extreme heat, hedgehogs will dig burrows to say cool underground. Hedgehogs rely on their sense of smell above anything else. They can detect familiar objects in the dark, such as housing and food. It also uses its sense of hearing to escape from predators and catch prey.
Hedgehogs that live in really cold climates have to hibernate to survive. They store themselves and their food under the frigid cold snow. Hedgehogs use their camouflage skills and spikes too protect themselves from predators. They also put saliva on their spikes for protection. If feeling threatened they will curl up in a small ball. If they are scared they might also curl up in a small ball. They might also bite it the predator tries to carry the hedgehog. |
